Sourdough Starter Workshop
Come join us at Getaway Motor Cafe for a hands-on sourdough starter workshop! Our coffee shop will be open to order while our experienced instructor, Sandra Brenes who owns Stuido B, will guide you through the process, sharing tips and tricks along the way. This in-person workshop includes a fresh active starter for each registered participant. Participants will feed and learn how to maintain their starter. This workshop will also include a sourdough bread dough demonstration, molding dough for open bake demonstration and answer the most common "mistakes" and cover tips/tricks associated with sourdough bread making focused on keeping the process simple and manageable for anyone interested in making sourdough bread. Participants will also receive a printed copy of the essential information.
About Studio B & Sandra
Sandra started Studio B bakery in 2019. Studio B is currently operating as a cottage food bakery. I sell organic artisan baked goods out of my home and at farmer's markets. The vision of Studio B is more than a bakery. Studio B is a "hub" that offers in person and online tutoring, classes & workshops including but not limited to baking, gf baking, gardening, art & ceramics. Studio B is a community that values sustainable life practices, learning necessary skills while providing delicious organic/non-GMO baked goods. We are a community that supports one another, shares ideas and gives inspiration to build, grow, make and create together!
Sandra has been a teacher for more than 22 years. She has taught all age levels ranging from early childhood to adult. She has taught all over Minnesota and Costa Rica. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and is continuously learning more to be able to share with those that would like to learn. She is a wife of 22 years, mother of two amazing young adults and two adorable dogs. She has been specifically teaching Sourdough for the last 3 years with a simple, easy to understand and follow Sourdough Bread making method that is sure to get even the most skeptic home baker eager to try making sourdough.
